Happy new year to all readers of NLP Hypnosis Secrets. It’s been awhile since I last updated the blog but this is a new year and a chance to work myself back into a regular routine. During the last few months I’ve been working on building some promotional relationships with other websites and blogs within the topic of self improvement. NLP Hypnosis Secrets is now syndicated on Hypnosis Knowledge and you may have also noticed that we now have a tab at the top of the page which takes you to a forum where you can discuss NLP, hypnosis and other related topics. The forum is hosted by the good people at HypnoBusters.

Now onto the actual topic of discussion, nail biting and how you can cure your addiction using NLP.

Addiction may seem like a strong word for habitual nail biting but if you’ve every tried to stop it you will know how hard it can be. The reason for this is that nail biting is an obsessive-compulsive disorder so you can’t just make a conscious effort to stop and expect it to work. It’s like that itch that you need to scratch.

There are two kinds of nail biters. The first are those who bite their nails without the conscious thought to do so. They are usually focusing on another activity such as watching TV or working on the computer and bite their nails as if it’s a natural thing to do. The second kind specifically decide to bite on their nails and feel a strong desire to do so whenever they look at their nails.

The reason people bite their nails is that it satisfies a subconscious urge. This urge is often intensified by stress and anxiety. When they bite their nails they gain a certain feeling of relaxation and satisfaction.

That is why the first thing to do with a client with a nail biting habit is to help them to relax more, eliminating the (intensifying) need to bite their nails. This can be done with a simple hypnotic induction and deepener. Then you can use hypnotic suggestions that make the client realize nail biting is not good for them, making them associate nail biting with chipped teeth and gum infections. You could also teach them an anchoring technique to help them satisfy their urge to bite their nails. This could consist of anchoring the feeling of relaxation with touching their chin with their forefinger and thumb. This provides a similar action to nail biting without any of the potential damage or social uncouthness.

If you would like help to quit nail biting then I recommend this Nail Biting Hypnosis MP3. Listen to it once a day for a month and you will be able to break the habit for good.

One of the biggest crazes in the videogame industry right now is the Brain Training franchise. These games are excellent ways to keep your mind active and sharp. However when it comes to the mind, and especially the memory, you can’t merely take a one dimensional approach. If you want to maintain and even improve your memory then you need to harness as many techniques as possible. In recent years it has emerged that hypnosis is one such technique that can greatly improve the power and recollection of the memory.

Remember everything you want to using hypnosis.

Just sit and think for a moment about everything that is going on around you. If you’re sat in front of your laptop or computer, in a quiet room, it might seem like there is little going on and nothing to remember. Yet in actuality there are hundreds of items around you in a specific layout, sounds, smells and many other kinds of stimuli. When you think of it that way it is easy to see how the memory can be overloaded much the same way as you could cause your computer to freeze by running many large programs at the same time. Not only is there constantly a high volume of information being entered into your memory but the likelihood is that you often have points of the day where you feel tired or stressed. All of these factors come into play when it comes to the efficiency of your memory. So how can hypnosis help you to not only maintain but improve your memory?

Hypnosis actually helps to relieve all of the problems I mentioned above in one way or another. It has been shown that hypnosis greatly aids a persons’ focus, blocking out any irrelevant or unimportant information. I’m sure that I don’t need to tell you that using hypnosis is also a great way to relax, unwind and improve the quality of your sleep. All of these positive effects combine to result in your memory processing only information important to you (forgetting that a blue tuck drove by at 3:14pm probably won’t cause any harm) and doing so in a much more efficient manner.

If we go back to the computer analogy think back to when you last gave your computer a “spring cleaning”. When you uninstalled a bunch of programs you no longer used, deleted large files that you didn’t need and defragged your hard drive. Didn’t your computer run much faster and better next time you started it up? Well that’s exactly how hypnosis works on the memory.

So by now I’m sure, if you haven’t already, you’re eager to try hypnosis to improve your memory right now. Well I’ve included a couple of resources that you’ll definitely be interested. The first is a free video session recorded by friend of the site Jon Rhodes DHyp. After experiencing the benefits of hypnosis firsthand you’ll then want to buy yourself a memory improvement hypnosis MP3 which you can do at the link below the video.

There are a couple of ways this can be done, either with hypnotic suggestions or by using a spiral which creates a kind of confusing sensation in the mind which is similar to the one you may feel when you are high.

Well recently I hooked up with YouTube user HypnosisSpirals who kindly helped me make a video of this trick. When you watch the video and follow the simple instructions you will be amazed at the short yet powerful effect it has on you.
